ResponsibilitiesThe Project Estimator performs a variety of administrative and analytical tasks, including:
- Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Determining factors that influence the cost of a service or product.
- Preparing material and cost estimates for the product or service.
- Creating labor estimates for any project.
- Assisting with solution design and contingency plans as needed.
- Working with purchasing and subject matter experts to create detailed cost analysis.
- Presenting prepared estimates to sales and customers, if needed.
- The Project Estimator models appropriate behavior in alignment with Optus’ Core Values and supports Optus’ team approach to Quality.
- Requires a high school degree or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of project or estimating experience.
- Field experience with installing IT infrastructure and cabling (Copper and fiber) Preferred.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code and General OSHA rules.
- Previous data entry skills preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Must have a positive attitude and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- This position requires the successful candidate to be able to multi-task, work within externally developed deadlines, and respond promptly and efficiently to change.
