Job Summary:

The Ward Clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the nursing staff and physicians in a hospital ward. The Ward Clerk will be responsible for maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and performing other administrative duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient records and ensure they are up-to-date and accurate
• Schedule appointments for patients and coordinate with nursing staff and physicians
• Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff member
• Assist nursing staff with patient care as required
• Perform other administrative duties as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications

Working Conditions:

The Ward Clerk will work in a hospital setting and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position may require standing or sitting for extended periods of time and may involve some lifting or moving of equipment or supplies.
