Position Summary
This manager will serve as a critical member of OBI’s Meaningful Day Services management team, working collaboratively with other managers to ensure high quality services for individuals participating in Day Habilitation and Community Development Services (CDS). This manager supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and OBI’s Behavior Specialist, providing the training and support necessary for them to have successful and enjoyable work experiences. This manager is responsible for ensuring proper staff training, documentation, and compliance with timelines and other regulatory requirements and is expected to be on-site at OBI five days per week.
Essential Duties
Supervision Duties

  • Interview, hire, and train qualified staff to provide quality supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Provide effective and respectful support and direct supervision to assigned staff.
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, demonstrating the type of participant interactions and customer service expected by OBI.
  • Establish a system for monitoring staff duties to ensure completion and accuracy (i.e., daily attendance and progress notes, developing and adhering to monthly activity calendars, following vehicle procedures, etc.).
  • Complete timely performance evaluations for employees under direct supervision.
  • Effectively manage use of the payroll and client management system software to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • To act in a manner that is dignified, respectful, and honors the participant’s rights, preferences and needs as determined within the person-centered plan (PCP).
  • To serve in a direct support capacity when needed, including providing transportation to individuals in personal or company-owned vehicle.
  • Adhere to OBI policies and procedures at all times.
Management Team Duties
  • Serve as an active member of OBI’s management team, planning and participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including agency in-service days.
  • Professionally represent OBI in meeting, trainings, and in the broader community.
  • Meet regularly with department staff as well as the Coordinators of Person-Centered Services.
  • Conduct transportation training and OBI vehicle training for employees, as well as personal vehicle inspections as needed.
  • Collaborates with all managers to ensure that OBI participants are engaged in meaningful activities.
  • Participant in management team focused on quality care, meaningful activities, and person-centered services.
Non-Essential Duties
  • Attend external meetings, conferences and training as needed/requested by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DDA funding.
  • Ability to use client management systems such as ICM.
  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including all levels of staff, individuals served and their families, other providers, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record and daily access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft word and excel documents specifically.
  • Ability to report to the office five days a week.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting/transferring approximately 50 to 100 pounds (usually with assistance).
  • Pushing/pulling (i.e. wheelchair, Mandt techniques) 100 pounds.
  • Frequent standing; walking; sitting; squatting; bending; reaching; fine motor skills.
