The Workforce Coach is responsible for providing ongoing support to participants to become confident not only in a professional setting but to empower themselves in their personal lives in order to meet program and individual goals. This includes determining career and education goals, developing and implementing job readiness, and a leadership curriculum aligned with contextualized career pathways, academic curriculum, employability workshops, credential training, and linking participants to post-secondary education, and/or long-term occupational training tracks. 
This position does not include productivity requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate the values and guiding principles of Our Promise each and every day, performing with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and ethics.
  • Create, implement and facilitate/co-facilitate curriculum and provide direct service to participants in assigned programs.
  • Monitor and update participants individualized plan and provide necessary referrals and/or resources as needed.
  • Support recruitment of eligible participants and assist potential participants with programmatic requirements.
  • Enure quality and integration of program components.
  • Work alongside funders and program partners; maintains existing partner relationships.
  • Perform related administrative responsibilities; completes required audits and/or peer reviews, maintains participant information, records, and other documents; responds timely to emails and phone calls; attend various trainings, attend required funder and Agency meetings; complete monthly reporting; communicate with other agencies, departments, and vendors regarding required paperwork, contract compliance and consults with other county agencies as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain written documentation for participants, employers, educational institutions and disseminate according to program requirements.
  • May conduct home visits to assess needs and support re-engagement of participants.
  • Provide crisis intervention and mediation between participants and work site supervisors as necessary.
  • Develops strong community support and collaborative partnerships. Maintain effective linkages with internal and external department staff, outside agency professionals, and other community organizations.
  • Meet or exceed contract performance expectations. 
  • Maintains the confidentiality of client or collateral interaction within Agency defined standards.
  • Supports management in administrative and programmatic duties.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership, promote an inclusive work environment, and present the Agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
  • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum educational level of high school diploma. Associate degree or higher* in Social Work, Human Services, Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with low income participants and working with young adults.

Qualifications:

  • Effective interpersonal skills; able to speak effectively with individuals and/or groups of people.
  • Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.
  • Flexible; able to workdays, evenings, and/or weekends, as desired to meet the needs of clients.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to detail and perform work independently.
  • Ability to provide timely follow-up and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
  • Effective computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic records, etc.
  • Ability to provide services in the community, client homes or at work locations which may include facilities with multiple levels and may require walking, standing, and lifting.
  • Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Successfully meet pre-employment onboarding requirements to include drug screen, physical exam, tuberculosis, and background requirements.
