OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring a Corporate Communication Specialist Near Hazel, IL

Lanco, a worldwide leader in industrial equipment manufacturing, is looking for a Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Human Resources team in this newly created position. In this role, you will bring the Lanco’s brand to life through strategic storytelling that resonates across platforms, educating and captivating our various audiences.

Following an introduction period, this role can become a hybrid role located primarily on-site at our Hazel Crest, IL location. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Change Management/Digital Transformation, Corporate Marketing, and business unit leaders to develop, craft, and disseminate company, human resources, and employee news, as well as support employee education and events.
  • Intake and prioritize communication requests from internal departments and Lanco leadership.
  • Write strategic communications material that connects to the Lanco’s priorities and culture.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and accurately across a variety of channels.
  • Edit copy for consistency, clarity, accuracy, grammar, style, and effectiveness. Elevate quality of others' writing to tell effective stories with edits that make copy tighter, stronger, more compelling.
  • Write communication materials as assigned and contribute proactive ideas to further improve internal and external communications. Have a passion for great writing and share that passion and expertise with the team.
  • Provide research and writing support for various communications deliverables (print, digital, and video) and channels, including but not limited to internal meetings, external speaking engagements, newsletter, surveys, talking points, social media posts, etc.
  • Prepare communication strategy and content relating to business continuity.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships across the company.
  • Continually integrate new technology and best practices to increase impact and efficiency.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or Creative Writing.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in corporate communications.
  • Preferred Software experience: JIRA, MS Teams, Confluence, EKM, Microsoft Office, Canva, InDesign, Outlook, Power BI, Carntasia, Snagit, SharePoint. Preferred Software: Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate360, or Rise360.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Passionate storyteller and self-starter who enjoys working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Collaborative spirt and responds efficiently to challenges.
  • Experience in SharePoint Design
  • Copywriting and editing.
