OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring an Accounting Specialist Near Richfield, MN

In this role, this individual will be responsible for receiving payments, or notice of payments, from our clients. Payments are reconciled to the accounts outstanding on the aging schedule and posted accordingly. This individual will research, distribute and post miscellaneous payments that are not from clients - accordingly. In addition, this position will support general ledger responsibilities, such as, accounts payable, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and other receivables.

Required Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in either written or oral form; maintains attention and actively listens to other’s ideas and thoughts. • Effectively demonstrates attentive listening through body language, taking notes, etc. Uses active listening to clarify questions or concerns. • Gathers and analyzes information and data; making logical decisions based on available facts and impact with short and long-term priorities. • Demonstrates willingness and is excited to face new challenges; presenting ideas that demonstrate the ability to adapt to change.

Skills/Experience

  • 2 years of accounting related experience • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of the impact of the accounts receivable process on the company. • Strong work ethic demonstrating strict attention to detail, initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision. • Utilize clear verbal and written communication skills. • Suggest process improvements with continued attention to gaining efficiencies, as well as client and control guidelines. • Prior accounts receivable experience. • Proficiency with 10 key and Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word). • Experience with FACS, Accounting G/L system and banking software. • Credit and collection experience

Education

  • AA Degree in Accounting preferred Essential Job
