Ophthalmology Associates is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Staten Island, NY

```Duties```
- Perform preliminary eye exams, including taking patient history and measuring visual acuity
- Administer diagnostic tests, such as tonometry and visual field testing
- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, such as eye surgeries and laser treatments
- Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens usage
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic equipment

```Experience```
- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a related role preferred
- Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical coding and terminology
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (Epic) is a plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy

Please note that retail sales experience is not relevant to this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
