Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and assisting in medical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye function testing including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient care by preparing patients for examinations, tests, and procedures.
- Maintain examination rooms and equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Provide support in minor surgical procedures by sterilizing instruments and ensuring aseptic technique adherence.
- Record patient medical history accurately in electronic health records systems.
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and post-operative care instructions.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical setting or ophthalmology practice is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance verification.
- Familiarity with optical sales and retail experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in front desk duties including appointment scheduling and patient check-in.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ability to use electronic health record systems efficiently.
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions.
- Experience with medical records management and documentation.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
