This role involves working closely with HR leadership to manage employee benefits and ensuring compliance with various federal, state, and local regulations. This role also supports Workday system workflows, auditing for data accuracy, compliance and compliance reporting, policy creation, employee inquiries, verifications of employment, and support with additional administrative tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Administer various employee benefits programs such as group health, dental and vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
* Manage the enrollment, renewal, and distribution processes for all benefits.
* Communicate benefits information to employees through presentations, individual counseling sessions, and written materials.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to benefits, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
* Responsible for leaves of absence in partnership with our administrator.
* Prepare and file required compliance reports with government agencies.
* Stay updated on changes in legislation that may affect employee benefits and compliance requirements.
* Resolve benefits-related issues and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations.
* Conduct benefits orientations and other benefits training for employees and dependents.
* Coordinate with benefits vendors and consultants to ensure services, coverage, and pricing meet organizational needs and legal requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits records and prepare analytical reports on benefits usage, compliance activities, and program effectiveness.
* Utilize Workday system for data entry, data tracking, and information security.
* Serve as an employee advocate to handle employee inquiries, verifications of employment, compliance, and support with additional administrative tasks.
* Analyze data to identify trends, make recommendations for improvements, and support decision-making processes.
* Identify inefficiencies in HR processes and recommend innovative solutions for process enhancement.
* Collaborate with HR team members to implement process changes that increase efficiency and improve the employee experience.
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
* At least 5 years of experience within Human Resources
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness
* Intermediate Excel proficiency.
* Experience providing back office administrative and transactional support for different types of HR functions preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
* Independent self-starter who can work with minimal direction and isn't afraid to make recommendations to improve processes.
* Must have the ability to remain focused, professional, tactful, committed to confidentiality and discrete when handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
