The Open Range at the Historic Sheridan Inn is now interviewing candidates for our banquet director position. Qualified candidates will be proficient in computer skills and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Toast is a plus. The banquet director will have operational and financial responsibility for the overall event spaces and sales.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Provide leadership and support for all staff and colleagues

· Hire, train and evaluate banquet staff in accordance with the standards of company policies and guidelines

· Schedule all staff to maintain the service standards of the Sheridan Inn while operating within budgeted labor cost guidelines

· Ensure proper care, security and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision of service staff

· Prepare payroll and gratuity reports as required

· Attend and participate in all required meetings on a regular basis

· Organize and orchestrate any last minute changes or details to functions

· Post all contracted banquet event orders to ensure the success of the event

· Communicate directly with the host of the functions to confirm details of the function

· Communicate directly with necessary managers and departments to ensure the success of the function

· Directly oversee setup and service of contracted functions by giving specific menu information to the servers, coordinating the timing of the event with the chef and by assigning functions to service and bar staff to ensure the success of the function

Requirements:

- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Be a self-motivator and a motivator of others

- Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner

- Have the ability to multitask

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Must have excellent attention to detail and extensive service knowledge

- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
