Job Description

CRDF Global is seeking a Project Manager within the Global Health Operating Division, to provide administrative, project management, and grant management support for Tuberculosis (TB) preclinical and clinical research studies and other related projects and activities funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 

The Project Manager will work under the supervision of the CRDF Global Project Director and Senior Program Manager in close coordination with program staff from the NIH National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Division of AIDS (DAIDS) to support overall coordination and collaborative planning among stakeholders in the “Facilitating Accelerated Science and Translation for Tuberculosis Regimen Development (FAST-TB)” initiative, and other high-priority TB and TB/HIV research activities.

This position requires strong project management skills. This position requires the cross-cutting of multiple working groups to ensure a fully coordinated and cohesive launch and conduct of the FAST-TB initiative. Among others, this position will require administrative support for the development of technical documents by way of consolidating comments and revisions into cohesive documents.

Major Responsibilities:

  • In close liaison with the Project Director, leads the implementation of projects using best practices for Project Management (for multiple projects) that may include charters, WBS, statements of work, schedules, deliverables, monitoring and evaluation plans, and project budgets; prepares and submits reports and proposed modifications, as necessary
  • Supports communication and coordination across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Schedules, prepares, and distributes meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and tracks action items
  • Coordinates the meetings of the various FAST-TB working group, and monitors and tracks actions items and related progress
  • Schedules and participates in FAST TB CORE team meetings and provides regular updates on programmatic progress and challenges
  • Works closely with the Project Director to organize, host, and prepare reports and action items from FAST-TB workshops and meetings
  • Supports the development and preparation of requests for applications (RFAs)
  • Coordinates with grantees to ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with grant requirements
  • Supports program/project to provide high-quality deliverables to funding agency relaying timely program information and updates
  • Serves as the liaison for internal units (Finance, Operations Support, HR, Grants, etc) to execute the project on scope, schedule, and budget
  • Provides logistical support for coordination of domestic and international meetings, workshops, and conferences, where applicable
  • Supports implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems to properly document, and organize project performance and progress
  • Liaises with the funder routinely
  • Establishes and advances relationships with key stakeholders and grantees to ensure the work of CRDF Global is building on and contributing to key project goals and objectives
  • Supports the Project Director with various administrative tasks, as required
  • Monitors value proposition, evaluate project performance, and ensures cooperation among stakeholders
  • Produces reports, documents, presentations, and responses to requests for information as required in planning and implementation of projects/strategies
  • Supports other programs and staff, as required
  • Travels within the U.S. and internationally, and represents programs or projects at external events domestically and abroad, as required,
  • Supports other related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required in the life sciences or health sciences (e.g., biology, bioengineering, molecular biology, clinical degree) or in business management or finance with relevant research experience
  • Minimum of three to five years (3 – 5) years project management or relevant experience, preferably in clinical research planning, development, and oversight
  • Prior experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, or a similar role
  • Strong organizational and project management expertise
  • Strong oral, written, and personal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment, including multi-persons visio-conferences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, with tight deadlines
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • TB/HIV clinical research experience and knowledge, highly desired

Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. The determination of salaries in this job classification depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills. In addition, we have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement savings plan; paid time off; education reimbursement; student loan paydown and more.
