Open Dental Software is Hiring a Child Care Director Near Salem, OR

Starting Pay: $29.00/hr - $33.00/hr

This opening is for the position of Director at a brand new Certified Child Care Center in Salem, Oregon. The facility will have a capacity of 100 children, from infant through preschool. It will serve the employees of Open Dental Software, located on the same campus. Our state-of-the-art building will be finished within a month or two and we are looking to hire our new Director in advance to get ready for our soft opening.

Candidate must meet Oregon requirements for a Child Care Director. This means that the candidate will already be very familiar with all of the Oregon rules for Certified Child Care Centers and will already have a strong background in child care. We will be asking the candidate a number of questions from those rules to verify their knowledge level. The qualifications for a Child Care Director are contained in those rules, so we will not repeat them here.

The Director will have the support of the company, Open Dental Software. This means that there will be less responsibility in certain areas including budgeting, financial management, human resources, maintenance of building and grounds, janitorial, IT (computers, network, printers etc), billing, etc. This should allow the Director to focus more on areas specific to child care. Also, whenever there's a problem, the parent is minutes away, relieving the center from many typical issues like child cleanup, sickness, isolation, etc.

One of the most important skills we're looking for is the ability to manage paperwork. In the first few months, there will be a lot of documentation of policies and procedures, as required by Oregon. There will always be an ongoing need to publish daily activities in advance for the different age groups. Strong computer skills and writing skills will be needed.

Benefits include very good medical and dental insurance, 401k retirement with up to 4% company match, paid life insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off (vacation or sick).

This is a full time 40 hour position rather than salary. The center might be open something like 7:45 am to 4:15 pm and the Director could adjust their 8 hour shift within that window as needed.

Drug test and background check will be required. We generally don't hire someone who lives far outside of Salem because it's beneficial for us to have employees who live near the office.

To apply: please email your resume to jobs@opendental.com and indicate which position you are applying for.

About Open Dental Software

Open Dental Software is a powerful, flexible, affordable Dental Practice Management Software. Proudly supporting dental practices of all sizes and varieties all over the world. In the past, the only options for dental practice management software were expensive, rigid, and proprietary. Dr. Sparks, our founder and a dentist himself, wanted something better. He longed for a program that was affordable, customizable, and robust in its capabilities. Realizing that a program like that did not yet exist, he set out to develop one on his own. In just a few years, that self-taught programmer and denti...st had accomplished his goal and Free Dental was born. While using the program during development in his dental office, Dr. Sparks relied heavily on critique from his own dental hygienists, assistants, and office managers giving him unique insight into what makes a dental practice management software user-friendly, efficient, and effective for everyone in the office. Dr. Sparks felt that every dentist should have access to such a powerful, flexible, and affordable program. Thus, Free Dental became Open Dental Software, an open source dental practice management software open to change, open to progress, and available to all. Users were then encouraged to offer feedback and suggestions to facilitate continuous improvement and Open Dental users were so satisfied with the results, news of this innovative program spread like wildfire in the local and online dental community. Today, Open Dental Software employs a diverse group of over 150 engineers, support techs, dental professionals, trainers, IT specialists, conversion specialists, and more. An estimated 20,000 dental practices in countries around the world use the program. Innovative improvements are frequently released based off of user feedback and industry standards. Open Dental and its staff are passionate about simplifying practice management and dedicated to providing an unmatched product with exceptional support. More
