Open Arms is searching for qualified Lead and Assistant Teachers for preschool age children in a childcare setting. Lead teachers are responsible for care of children during all times of the day and additional cleaning duties as well. At least one year experience in childcare and training classes required for Lead teachers. Assistant teachers can be trained, and experience is not required. CPR/First Aid certified is preferred but will train if not already certified.
Current full-time positions available are:
7:30-6:00, one day off per week
8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday
9:00-6:00, Monday-Friday
Current part-time positions available are:
7:00-1:00, Monday-Friday
1:00-6:00, Monday-Friday
If hired, employee would be responsible for completing training courses, background check fingerprinting and a health assessment within the first 30 days of hire. Pay rate will be dependent on experience and education. Experience is required for lead teachers, but no experience is required for assistant teachers. All training will be done after hire and within the first 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Preschool Teachers are responsible for the well-being of the children under their care.
- They must monitor the children all day to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Ensuring the children have good hygiene and assisting with personal needs as necessary.
- Cleaning interactive areas throughout the day
- Organizing activities and developing curriculum for preschool children
- Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests and any problems that may occur.
- Maintaining contact with the children’s parents and contacting them in the case of an emergency
