PROJECT SURVEYOR - PSM

OolaHR is in search of a Project Surveyor in the Sarasota area

The majority of our work consists of “High-volume Residential Builder Services” and includes setting lot corners, collecting topo and locating utilities on newly platted vacant lots, house staking, form board checks, foundation and final title surveys.

A Quick Snapshot of Responsibilities:

  • You will work under the supervision of the VP, Director of Surveying.
  • Perform public record research and calculations to resolve property boundaries and rights of way; will review survey technician’s work and serve as project manager on various sized survey projects.
  • Assist in crew scheduling for multiple crews and help prepare crews for their field work.
  • Assist and/or prepare construction staking calculations and reports as needed, and sign and seal surveying documents.
  • Ordering field supplies
  • You may be required to work in the field on occasion and make sure equipment is maintained, repaired and calibrated as needed.

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, abstracting title data, record drawings research, and client relations.
  • Sign and seal survey documents.
  • Monitors projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with clients on technical matters
  • Works directly with project team members, to include other registered surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff
  • Writes descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases.
  • Analyze and process survey data (conventional and GPS)
  • Develop detailed survey drawings with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil/Survey software
  • Perform deed analysis and prepare working sketches
  • Perform coordinate geometry calculations
  • Compute data points for construction layout
  • Import and export of data in various formats
  • Daily interaction with field personnel to acquire notes and data and monitor progress
  • Visit sites to gather physical evidence and survey data as required from time to time
  • Confer by telephone, writing, or in person with surveyors, crew chiefs, clients, colleagues, public officials, contractors, and others from time to time as required

Additional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid & current State of Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper license.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of post-licensure experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil/Survey software
  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver's License and have own transportation to and from work.
  • Field experience working with a survey crew as well as previous experience working as an in-office survey technician
  • Must possess the ability to take personal initiative and maintain confidentiality of work assignments
  • Must be a Team player who is self-motivated but can work independently as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple assigned projects
  • Familiarity with the Florida Standards of Practice and the Minimum Standard Detail
  • Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys helpful

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $60,000.00-$85,000.00 (based on experience)
  • Six paid holidays
  • 12 days per year of Personal Time Off (PTO) accumulated at 8 hours per month
