We are seeking an Entry level and dedicated Assistant Wastewater Operation and Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, and chemical feed systems.
2. Conduct regular inspections of wastewater treatment facilities to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating equipment, replacing filters, cleaning tanks, punch list items and responding to client questions and concerns regarding maintenance and operation.
4. Monitor wastewater treatment processes and adjust as necessary to optimize performance and efficiency.
5. Collect samples of wastewater for analysis and testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
6. Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
7. Troubleshoot equipment and system issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
8. Document maintenance activities, equipment readings, and operational data in logs and reports.
9. Assist with the implementation of safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
10. Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve operational issues.
11. Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in wastewater treatment operations.
12. Conduct turnover and orientations with clients and homeowners.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Technical training or certification in wastewater treatment operations preferred. Not required.
3. Willingness to multitask.
4. Minor electrical experience preferred. Not required.
5. Experience in Wastewater services preferred. Not required.
6. Mechanical aptitude and technical skills for troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
7. Willing to learn of regulatory requirements and environmental standards for wastewater treatment.
8. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
9. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
10. Ability to work independently after 3-6 months of training and evaluation, as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
11. Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
12. Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects over 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
13. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
14. Willing to learn all maintenance and repair procedures to ensure affective operation of all installed sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
