Account Executive, Guardian Protection Products

Position Summary:

The Account Executive is responsible for the day-to-day and strategic management of one or more of Guardian’s strategic retail accounts, uncompassing furniture, appliance and other B2C retail consumer goods resellers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Focuses on the retention, support and growth of assigned accounts.
  • Ensures sales growth targets and profitability requirements are met for assigned accounts.
  • Serves as the lead point of contact for customer concerns from assigned accounts.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with all key customer stakeholders.
  • Ensures the timely and successful delivery of solutions for customer needs and objectives.
  • Conducts detailed analyses of sales, financial, operational, underwriting and other metrics for key accounts.
  • Reads, analyzes and summarizes key performance data to provide accounts with performance metrics.
  • Conducts regular business reviews with representatives of key accounts as well as all internal Guardian stakeholders for key accounts.
  • Develops new business opportunities for existing clients and/or identifies areas of improvement to meet sales targets and objectives.
  • Provides effective training to all stakeholders of key accounts, including sales associates, sales and store managers, and customer service representatives.
  • Directs the efforts of Account Specialists assigned to key accounts.
  • Works with Marketing support to develop all necessary materials to meet account requirements for merchandising and training support.
  • Collaborates with business development team to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all industry related trends and news, including competitive products, practices and policies.
  • Provides monthly business summaries to the Vice President of Sales.
  • Represents Guardian at industry trade shows and conventions.
Experience/Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university;
  • Five years related experience and/or training in the furniture retail or warranty sales industry; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Able to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs in a retail environment
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of the residential furniture category, including products and policy standards
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly developed analytical skills – capable of reviewing both qualitative and quantitative data sets
  • Completes projects on time and within budget
  • Energetic, charismatic and collaborative
  • Punctual
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Standard Office Suite and extensive use of Windows presentation software.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the work schedule each week.

  • Work is generally performed in office or retail store environments. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectually challenging, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. Will require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
