Position Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for performing plumbing service calls on a variety of plumbing systems and equipment. Depending on experience and call volume, employees will be expected to give quotes for repairs and/ or to replace systems, (IE…fixtures, piping, water heaters, tankless water heaters, filtration, ETC). When call volume dictates, employees will be performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on plumbing systems (water heaters, tankless water heaters, crawl space inspections), both as prepaid plans as well as new customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performing service calls on fixtures, systems and equipment that are of concern. Troubleshooting on a variety of systems to identify the issue, then educating the customer. Presenting the customer with three options to resolve the issue. These solutions could range from regular maintenance, repairs, to a replacement of a part, or ultimately replacing the whole system.
• Performing maintenance safety tune-up inspections on plumbing systems (water heaters, tankless water heaters, crawl space inspections). These are in homes and light commercial locations In Sonoma & Marin Counties.
• Providing excellent customer services to introduce or continue the customers experience while dealing with our company and our core values.
• Presenting and closing opportunities for the customer to sign-up or renew prepaid maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of how a Plumbing system or equipment should optimally work.
• Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnosing problems, replacing, or repairing parts (recognize when a more experienced technician needs to be sent out to evaluate the job), testing and adjusting Plumbing systems and equipment.
• Identify HVAC issues (ductwork concerns, equipment condition) and call in to the office to get one of our HVAC technicians scheduled out to evaluate as a referral.
• Identify electrical issues and call in to the office to get one of our electricians scheduled out to evaluate.
• Educate and offer customer preventive repairs.
• Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
• Performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma/GED
• At least 3 years experience in the Plumbing Service and Repair field or Trade school is required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to use an iPad effectively, we are a paperless company and everything is done on an iPad.
• Clean driving record.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
