Position Title: Systems Developer

Clearance: Secret

Location: Kentucky Consular Center - Williamsburg KY/Hybrid

Provides Tier 3 applications development support in an Agile environment by providing services to ensure effective Development, Maintenance, and Enhancements (DME) to mission specific Center applications. Additionally support installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of applications software and related infrastructure. Participate in technical applications and knowledge base development. Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements, including local / enterprise configuration control and information security planning and operational requirements. Assist project teams with technical issues in execution, testing, roll-out and maintenance of applications. Participate in projects to ensure smooth transition of initiatives from development and modernization/upgrade efforts to production, by performing operations support activities as required.

Responsibilities

• Development, Maintenance, and Enhancements (DME) of mission specific Department of State applications. Applications are currently functioning in a hybrid database environment (mostly SQL and Oracle).
• Import/Export data into the database and then use the capability of the database to generate reports and manage the workflow. The database is large, and the data received is not always clean (so there is an ongoing data cleansing need)
• Manage Team and coordinate with customer leadership to ensure applications operate effectively with external systems. Efficient data transfer to/from large and small DoS and other Agency systems is critical. Basic understanding of related technologies from Excel spreadsheets to Multi-terabyte Oracle databases is relevant.
• Tier 3 Support providing solutions to escalated problems with production applications
• Document fixes in knowledge base articles as appropriate
• Review and maintain compliance with Department of State Information Assurance policies.

Education

BS/BA or equivalent preferred (4 years additional experience may be substituted for degree)

Both T-SQL and VBA experience is a plus.
