Job Summary

This listing is for a dual role for a Mold Specialist and Shop Laborer supporting our Precast Operation. Mold Specialist has responsibility of making molds from a drawing, blueprint, or 3D model, using a variety of products including steel, wood, Styrofoam, rubber, or a combination of the three materials. Shop laborer responsibilities include coordinating with operations supervisor to most efficiently complete job requirements and maintain on-time product delivery.

1. Responsibilities

A. Safety

· Promote and engage in a safe work environment.

· Report safety incidents.

· Display good housekeeping in work areas.

· Ensure adherence to OSHA and Onex safety policies.

B. Planning and Scheduling

● Interpreting and understanding of drawings and blueprints.

● Carpentry skills, i.e. mold making and maintenance.

● Wood working, mechanic, and general welding a plus.

● Assist in shop during downtime.

● Complete general work requirements as designated to meet forecasted production. 

C. Productivity

● Ability to view finished product and identify best way to create forms/molds for part.

● Creative thinking and problem solving abilities.

● Identify ways to improve efficiency.

● Complete work in a timely manner.

● Work with all departments to overcome challenges to keep the job on schedule.

D. Quality

● Accurate and reliable with the quality of work results

● Ensure job scope was completed based on material requirements.

● Proper measurements, and product finish per customer specifications.

● Ensures timely delivery with no damaged materials, tools, or equipment.

Physical Requirements

● Requires moving one's whole body, such as climbing, lifting, kneeling, balancing, walking, stooping, and bending.

● Activities often require considerable use and coordination of the arms, hands, fingers, and legs, such as in the physical handling of equipment and materials.

● Requires stamina for physical exertion over long periods of time.

● Must be able to move or handle equipment and materials generally weighing up to 100 pounds.

● Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug screen and subject to random Drug Testing upon hire– Onex is a Drug Free workplace due to the safety sensitive nature of our work.

● Wear PPE in field environment.

Work Environment

● Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals

● Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and high temperatures.

● Loud noise levels in the work site.
