Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Our BigQuery team enables BigQuery across Walmart Technology as Enterprise Data Warehouse platform that allows analytics against petabyte-scale datasets using standard SQL syntax. After recent transition of BigQuery area to Cloud and Data Platform team, we will be accelerating technology development, improving operations, increasing customer adoption, and enhancing customer and associate experiences of BigQuery Platform while prioritizing judicious and safe usage and development to minimize any potential risks including ownership and appropriateness of created content, security, and privacy.
About Team:
Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.
What you'll do:
  • Lead and participate in small- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, write and develop code, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, communicating and collaborating with project team and stakeholders, and providing leadership to the project team.
  • You'll manage 4-8 engineers across geographic locations, to complete program deliverables by providing necessary documents, direction, and examples.
  • You'll drive support for our existing deployments and customers.
  • You will be responsible for driving operational excellence among your reports and your peers, including writing documentation, reviewing requirements, developing future solutions, and ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.
  • You will drive issues to resolution, including driving focus rooms, coordinating efforts between multiple teams, providing updates to leadership, and driving associates and vendors for RCAs and permanent solutions.
  • Ensure business needs are met by evaluating plans, programs, and initiatives.
  • Drive operational improvement through automation in areas of implementation, maintenance, and support.
What you'll bring:
  • 3 years experience with BigQuery and over 10 years of experience with Data Warehousing and various platforms/environments
  • Experience reviewing multiple Data Warehouse technologies and providing leadership with recommendations
  • 3 years experience leading a small group of engineers and areas across the organization in migrating from one Data Warehouse platform to another

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Stock equity incentives
Minimum Qualifications...
