Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the VP, Audit-Strategy and Innovation Leader, the VP, Data Analytics and Training Leader is responsible for leading the data analytics across audit engagements and support the Audit Department on utilizing analytics on execution of the audit plan. In addition, this role will enhance the current data analytics training program to drive more core audit analytic usage and data analytic competencies that can be used by auditors in their day to day jobs across the department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development, delivery, and utilization of data analytics during audit engagements to provide continuous improvement in the execution of the audit plan
  • Also responsible for leading the development and execution of analytics, and support the data analytics learning within the Internal Audit function in support of becoming an insight driven organization
  • Will be responsible for work across the entire data analytics process including data acquisition, preparation, reporting, and visualization
  • Complete all audit, continuous monitoring, and project related analytic deliverables on time according to audit phase, Sr. Audit Manager/stakeholder requirements, and schedule
  • Works with all Internal Audit lines of business to understand goals and align Data Analytics solutions to these goals
  • Implements statistical analysis using Python and SAS
  • Leads and performs continuous monitoring activities periodically for the area assigned
  • Builds and develops an analytics catalogue that includes automated scripts that can be used for continuous auditing
  • Lead efforts to training other Data Analytics and/or Internal Audit personnel on the execution/use of DA techniques
  • Track usage and metrics of data analytics including reporting to IA Senior Leadership team
  • Enhance and execute the Data Analytics training program for internal audit enabling more data analytics across the department

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, computer science, information systems management, business, or equivalent related field; or in lieu of degree, minimum of 10 years experience in data analytics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics cycle (data gathering, transformation, mining, modeling, analytics, and reporting) using data analytics tools like SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Python and/or ACL
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an Audit, Risk Management, and/or banking environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with SAS, Python, and SQL and strong coding abilities

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with traditional and cloud database technology and an advanced understanding of data warehousing, data flow and handling
  • Exceptional knowledge of Extract, Transform and Load process and tools
  • Expert technical documentation skills
  • Good grasp of data governance best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • Experience working within Internal Audit and knowledge of core Audit functions and responsibilities
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment with direct reports, peers, and senior leadership teams
  • Be curious and have a passion for digging for solutions to drive process improvement
  • Possess effective project management skills, make sound decisions, and exhibit initiative and intuitive thinking; and
  • Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
