Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst - Capacity Forecasting & Analytics is responsible for developing United's Network Capacity outlook based on network strategy, fleet plans, and flight schedules. The position requires passion for data analytics and storytelling, with a strong willingness to dig deep into details while maintaining the ability to see the big picture.

Build capacity forecasts of the next 18-24 months and synthesize findings into monthly presentations to educate and influence decision-making by Finance and Operations groups

• Collaborate across Global Network Planning to develop and implement projects that shape the airline's United Next growth
• Partner with the IKC Network Analytics team to innovate the forecasting process, improve accuracy, and investigate variances versus prior
• Work cross functionally with other Commercial teams, United Express, Finance, and Operations to ensure viability of network plans, identify potential risks, and optimize United's collective success
• Evaluate capacity implications of various fleet scenarios including aircraft purchases, retirements, reconfigurations, maintenance events, and changes to aircraft delivery timelines
• Support senior management with network outlook as needed for earnings calls, board meetings, and investor conferences
• Analyze industry trends and changes to competitor capacity

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in, Economics, Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or 4 years of relevant work experience
• 2 years' relevant professional work experience
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Details oriented - skeptical when metrics and anecdote differ
• Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn, and a bias for action
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Passion for aviation industry and interest in learning Network Planning principles
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel functions and PowerPoint

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

• Data Science background
• Knowledge of Network Planning principles
• Comfort with SQL or Foundry; Knowledge of United Data Hub resources and capabilities
• Experience with Network or Financial Planning functions at a major global airline
