JOB SUMMARY The Technician is responsible for providing operational, electrical, and mechanical support for area assets. Successful applicant is responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area. Job Profile Summary Incumbents are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing equipment within an assigned area. This is considered an intermediate or journey-level position that the incumbent can perform independently or with minimal supervision. Provide technical support for assigned location(s). Maintain a working knowledge of company policies/procedures as they relate to the operation/maintenance of the assigned assets, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices. Attend and actively participate in required safety training meetings. Perform routine testing, inspection, and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment/systems, including but not limited to: pumps, electric motors, electrical equipment, electronic and/or pneumatic instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, measurement systems, product testing & analysis, piping systems, valves, centrifugal, positive displacement pumps, positive displacement meters, turbine meters, and similar other equipment and systems. Complete and maintain required documentation/records associated with performed maintenance and repair. Manage location projects, including major overhauls, troubleshooting for pumps and mechanical seals, new installations, or modifications of existing equipment, etc. Perform other functions as requested by the Supervisor of Operations. Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage. Education High School diploma required Skills & Qualifications Valid driver's license to drive a Company vehicle Two years of experience in the maintenance and operation of industrial and chemical manufacturing process plants or equivalent industry experience preferred. Experience in the specific field of operation and maintenance of Refined Products Pipelines, Terminals, Pump Stations is preferred. Two years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution majoring in electronics, electricity or diesel mechanics is preferred. Experience with API 653 & DOT 195 pipeline operations is also preferred. Seeking individuals with technical work experience that possess the basic required skills along with the ability to apply them within their assigned area of responsibility, independently or with limited assistance. Demonstrated “hands on” mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and computer skills Effective organizational and administrative skills Communication skills necessary to effectively interact with supervision, other members of the workgroup, and other company representatives or customers. Ability to function as a team leader among a group that may include fellow employees and/or contractors.
