**Please note this position is considered an essential worker for our business and therefore will be required to work in the data center facility for all working hours.**

This is a full-time opportunity, working 12 hour shifts; Every other Wednesday and every Thursday-Saturday from 7:30am to 7:30pm.

Responsibilities

This position will operate, monitor, measure, and attain OneNeck IT Solutions’ Data Centers Service Level Commitments, and maintain facility appearance and integrity, especially during assigned shift. This role is responsible for providing assistance to customers and projects, as such situations arise. The data center is a critical aspect of the OneNeck business by ensuring availability, business continuity (no disruption), and security for internal and external customers. The data center must maintain high standards for assuring the integrity and functionality of its’ hosted computer environment and support services.

  • Monitor and Operate Data Centers critical functions and facilities to meet or exceed Service Levels. Monitor, correct, and report observed infractions of security policies and procedures. Detect and dispatch help for trouble situations within non-local facilities, and attempt remote troubleshooting if possible/practical
  • Measure and record vital statistics and produce appropriate reports, including shift and weekly reports. Record and maintain accurate incident and change records and logs.
  • Respond physically to trouble situations within the local facility and conduct troubleshooting (including of telecom circuits) as may be required.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of local facility, correcting both appearance and functional imperfections. Chaperone vendors and guests, as may become necessary.
  • Assist, as available, project activity including any of the following
    • Installation, termination, testing and labeling of all cross connects (cat5, coax, fiber) in the Data Center.
    • Moving and installation of cabinets and relay racks.
    • Hardware installation including: shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, and customer equipment.
    • Exhibit exemplary workmanship in such performance
  • Have a working knowledge of the responsibilities of the Data Center Technician – Security, and be able to assist with those responsibilities, as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree -OR- 2 years professional work experience.
  • 3 years IT or related technical experience. 
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the data center.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts for 3-4 days at a time, with intervening 4-3 days off.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 75 pounds; climb equipment and walk on rooftops and cat-walks.

Other Qualifications

  • ITIL Certification or the willingness to pursue certification within 12 months of hire or work with management to pursue a reasonable alternative within 18 months.
  • Availability to occasionally work extra hours (including weekends) per an on-call basis.
  • Excellent communications with others, especially regarding technical matters.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, Power, Fire, Security building systems operations and safety.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits.
  • Data center skills and experience in installing/moving equipment and cabling on a large-scale basis.
  • Experience working with various networking hardware such as multiplexers, routers, and switches.
  • Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP.
  • Experience with fault isolation and troubleshooting networks including LAN and WAN.
  • Familiarity with configuring networking equipment such as routers, switches, and hubs.
  • Experience with data communication issues, including security, resource management, capacity planning, monitoring, and performance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and interruptions.
