As a Woodshop Operator/Assembler, you will be responsible for operating woodworking machinery and assembling wooden components to produce high-quality finished products. Your role will involve reading technical drawings, on sight training, selecting appropriate materials, operating woodworking equipment, and assembling wood pieces according to specifications. Additionally, you may be required to perform quality checks, maintain machinery, and assist with other tasks in the woodshop as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret, technical drawings, written instructions to determine materials needed and assembly procedures.
• Select lumber or wood materials based on project requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
• Operate woodworking machinery, such as table saws, planers, jointers, routers, and sanders, to cut, shape, and finish wood components.
• Set up and adjust woodworking machinery to ensure accurate cuts, dimensions, and finishes.
• Assemble wooden components using hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and fasteners according to assembly instructions.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Sand, stain, paint, or finish wood products as required to achieve desired appearance and texture.
• Maintain and clean woodworking machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Assist with inventory management, including tracking wood materials and supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the woodshop.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Maintain records of production activities, including materials used, production time, and quality inspections.

Nice to have's:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in woodworking or carpentry preferred.
• Knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control skills.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy materials, and operate power tools safely.
• Basic computer skills for recording production data and communicating with team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
