The ACH Deposit Operations Specialist provides a wide range of support to Deposit Operations Manager and all other Bank departments. In particular, this position is responsible for monitoring and processing all items related to the Deposit Operations of the Bank, specifically within the ACH area. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for monitoring and addressing all ACH tasks and transactions. (ie, IAT transactions, Regulation G occurrences; as well as DNE transactions and to further support the Bank’s Treasury Department Clients with ACH transaction.)
  • Responsible for assisting OFB Compliance area with the ACH Audit (s)
  • Responsible for monitoring and addressing all non-post, stop pays, positive pay or NSF items on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for all debit card matters including but not limited to ordering debit cards and card maintenance. 
  • Responsible for handing all ATM matters including but not limited to maintenance and disputes. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary Responsibility for this Role is to address all ACH tasks for the Bank. 
  • Responsible for processing foreign items and returned mail. 
  • Hot cards and PIN re-orders.
  • Process chargebacks, ACH items, wires and CD interest checks. 
  • Responsible for verifying that signatures on all wires are in compliance with Bank policy. 
  • Process daily account maintenance requests in accordance with Bank policy and file properly. 
  • Responsible for processing daily reports and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for monitoring and processing lockbox items, new account documents and handling account exceptions.
  • Report discrepancies immediately to the Deposit Operations Manager and assist in clearing discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed records on all work responsibilities. 
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the Bank’s customers. 
  • Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory requirements and training. 
  • Responsible for processing levies, garnishments and bankruptcy requests. 
  • Responsible for processing branch capture work and for review of mobile and merchant capture deposits.
  • Responsible for providing back up to all other Deposit Operations Specialists. 
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This person will continue with their education to keep his/her ACH Certification current. Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • ACH Certification

Language and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members 
  • A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of Deposit Operations 
  • Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor
  • Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel)
  • Word processing software (Microsoft Word)
  • Other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, One Note, PowerPoint)
  • Copier/Scanner
