Summer Community Health Worker Internship

Located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, One Community Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center offering Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Community Health programs.

Work with our Preventative Health Outreach department by:

• Visiting local orchards to provider resources and education.
• Attend and help facilitate outreach events.
• Provide education on Covid-19/diabetes/hypertension/local services and access.
• Assist local orchards with New Hire Orientation by highlighting resources.
• Participate in health fair clinics. May help with registration, patient questions, administrative functions. No clinical experience required!
• Intern Project. Must create new Outreach education materials in Canva (Fotonovelas, socio-dramas, plain language materials) and/or a new environmental health education (pesticides, multi-family housing, etc.)
• $17/hr Monday-Friday and some evening/weekends.
• May-Sept or as a student’s summer term allows.

Required Qualifications

• English/Spanish bilingual language skills required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of customer service.
• Able to work with patients and staff professionally and tactfully.
• Professional and business-like in appearance and demeanor.
• Candidates will be asked to pass a background check and provide negative TB test results.
• Candidate will travel with Preventative Health team to off-site locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Healthcare or a desire to work in a Federally Qualified Health Center
