A facility in Rome, NY is looking for Med Surg/Tele RNs. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Must have min. 2 years of experience. Must be able to read Tele Strips. Cardiac Drip experience needed. Travel experience preferred. NIH stroke certification and 8 hours of CEUs needed.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS:

* 13 - week assignment

* Start Date : 05/27/2024

* Unit: MS/TELE

* Schedule: 07:00 PM-07:30 AM Every other weekend/holiday

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 2 years experience of being an RN MS/TELE in Rome, NY
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Med Surg

* Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.

* Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.

* Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.

* Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.

* Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.

* Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.

* Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.

* Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.

* Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.

* Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Telemetry

* Studying patients' medical history, test results, and treatment plans.

* Tracking routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements.

* Monitoring, interpreting, and recording data from specialized medical technologies and equipment.

* Administering medication and performing treatment interventions in consultation with healthcare specialists.

* Maintaining and updating ward charts, patient files, and medical records.

* Instructing Telemetry Unit staff on patient care and treatment plans.

* Collaborating with healthcare specialists and reporting changes and deteriorating conditions.

* Explaining tests results and procedures to patients and their families, as well as answering questions.

* Advising patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, home care protocols, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
