Once Upon A Child is a locally owned franchise reseller of gently used kids stuff, including apparel, shoes, accessories, equipment, toys, books, etc. We buy our used inventory directly from our customers when their kids outgrow their stuff. Customers get paid in cash for all items accepted. We also sell some brand new products including car seats, sippy cups, socks, and underwear, etc. We are knowlegable trained professionals and follow established guidlines and precise pricing protocals to ensure our customers get fair deal every time.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. This is a part-time position with opportunities for career growth and development.

Duties:

- Greet customers and assist them in finding products or answering their questions

- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions to effectively upsell and cross-sell products

- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately

- Stock shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise

- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times

- Assist with inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and restocking as needed

- Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences

- Communicate effectively with customers to provide product information, resolve issues, and handle complaints

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required

- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail technology

- Bilingual in English and German is a plus

- Knowledge of retail math principles for pricing, discounts, and promotions is an advantage

- Technical sales experience is desirable

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
