Position Summary:

The Manager, Software Engineering, lead the team working on the development of software applications and ensures engineers follow set regulations and goals. The Manager, Software Engineering should have thorough knowledge of the technical aspect of software engineering to effectively manage the development process. As a manager, you will use mentorship skills and technical expertise to lead the team to deliver high-value work. With the primary focus to ensure the team ships high quality, scalable software at a regular cadence, while maintaining a cohesive and inclusive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with management and software engineers to determine feature requirements.Design and execute those requirements into the OnBoard application.
• Provide leadership in daily stand-ups, backlog refinement and planning meetings, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Evaluate software solutions and application performance, as well as supervise the software engineering team.
• Manage the development, deployment, and integration of software solutions.
• Determine system specifications and analyze prior to features deploying/launching.
• Partner with our Platform Team to help manage the installation and configuration of software solutions.
• Resolving software deployment and integration errors and documenting processes.
• Lead by example, through hands on coding and contributions toward the team's backlog of work.
• Work cross-functionally to drive change and influence product and process.
• Set and ensure a high bar for quality; ensure the team is building in quality through well-structured, unit tested, and scalable code.
• Performing routine maintenance and monitoring performance metrics.
• Keep abreast of new software technologies, as well as conforming to best practices in cybersecurity.
• Help build and maintain a healthy software engineering culture.

Skills and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, or similar
• 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience, primarily developing user-facing production features on a modern web stack.
• 3-5 years of experience providing direct supervision and/or skilled support to individual contributors.
• Experience developing web applications with C#, .NET Core, and Vue.JS.
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, git workflow, etc.; ideally in Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with establishing standards, setting, and communicating timelines, and guiding technical decisions.
• Commitment to testing and quality; using the testing pyramid to guide test automation using unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests using Cypress.
• Our applications are written in Vue.JS, with a .NET backend using Azure SQL
• Our services are written in C# and utilize Azure Cache for Redis
• Our data services also include Azure Data Lake and Storage Accounts
• Our infrastructure is hosted in Azure and utilizes App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Hub, and Azure Kubernetes Services for orchestration
