SUMMARY:

The Etica Group is actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Engineering Project Manager for immediate employment in the Indianapolis area. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate experience in roadway and trail design and familiarity with the INDOT process of roadway planning, estimating and special provisions development. Specific engineering work may include but is not limited to the following: construction document (plan and special provisions) preparation; technical reports preparation; engineering analyses, opinions of probable costs, and supporting calculations; evaluation and recommendation of design solutions; and a quality control/quality assurance activities in order to deliver a quality design product. The candidate must possess a positive attitude toward expanding their technical abilities while further developing their project management skills to lead increasingly complex and multidisciplined projects. Our hybrid multi-disciplined work environment will introduce the candidate to a broad range of experiences both with the office and in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop Transportation, Utility and Infrastructure Engineering Construction Plans and Specifications:

• Prepare the designs for both INDOT and locally funded transportation roadway and trail projects in urban and rural environments, and other infrastructure projects for public bid and construction.
• Prepare plans, special provisions, construction cost estimates, and supporting reports and documents.
• Use/understand AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/Open Roads for detailed design.
• Work well independently and within a team with minimal supervision.
• Be well organized and detail minded; able to provide project status updates regularly.
• Perform other project engineering tasks as assigned within the transportation department and as part of multi-disciplined teams.

Project Management:

• Meet/work/collaborate with project stakeholders (other engineers, sub-consultants, contractors, and owners representatives).
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with project stakeholders as needed with concerns to the project requirements.
• Understand process requirements, constraints, and objectives.
• Speak and lead meetings with stakeholders, the public, and the project team.
• Manage project workflow in multi-disciplined teams.
• Adhere to project schedule and manage the adjustment of schedules when appropriate.
• Assist the department leadership in the management of resource (staffing) needs and in coordination with other project managers.
• Work with other project managers, departments, and sub-consultants, as needed.
• Embrace the role of stewardship in service to our clients.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering |required
• 6 years of experience in roadway and general civil design |required
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation/Open Roads experience | required
• Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and general website navigation | required
• Registered Professional Engineer – Indiana | required
• INDOT roadway design or local roadway design following INDOT standards experience | required
• High degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
• Ability to work with, train and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
