Summary

The Contracts Specialist will be a key member of the legal department with day-to-day drafting, tracking, and reporting of the company’s sales contracts, and will be primarily responsible for contract lifecycle management from generation to signature. They should be diligent, flexible, and able to work under pressure. They will work closely with the sales team and key internal stakeholders to acquire input and approvals, and the most successful candidate will bring a can-do attitude to the team.

This role is a hybrid role that will work onsite 1-2 days per week at our Buffalo Grove, IL location. Occasional travel may be required as part of this position. #LinkedIn-Hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Draft standard contracts, including master client agreements, statements of work, amendments, and non-disclosure agreements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle contract administration with the ability to recognize the need for issue escalation.
  • Repository data entry and ticketing system management.
  • Responsible for reviewing and sometimes negotiating changes; ability to revise and draft responses with supervision.
  • Ensure contract terms align with legal department requirements and policies, in consultation with counsel.
  • Document processes and maintain files as requested.
  • Collaborate with sales and account executives, customer support, pricing and other key stakeholders to achieve contractual objectives, prepare new contract requests and/or respond to internal or external contract questions.
  • Handle constantly evolving or competing priorities, including preparation and review of contracts, and seeking input from counsel and/or business owners particularly during high volume periods.
  • Mitigate company risk by spotting potential business, operational, and legal issues.
  • Ensure all appropriate approvals are acquired and issues are addressed by coordinating stakeholders input.

  • Ability to handle a large volume of matters, including a combination of small and large contracts, while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • College degree and JD from an accredited US law school or college degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Agiloft or similar contracts management system desired.

The base salary range for this position is between $67,140.00 to $74,550.00, with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
