Job Description

The Roofing Technician works directly for the Assistant Superintendent of Roofing (RSA). This position is responsible for the proper preventative care and effective repair as directed by the RSA. The roofing technician is a highly visible position that may require daily interaction with residents and employees and requires the utmost awareness of how actions and communications are received and perceived.

The following statements describe the principal functions of this position and the scope of responsibility but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may be expected to perform other duties as assigned, including working in other areas to cover absences or balance the workload. • Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, of the property’s BUR, MOD-BIT, Architectural shingle, and TPO systems.
• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance to expansion joints, coping, counter flashing, termination bars, and lap joints.
• Maintains and repairs gravel stops.
• Repairs and welds .60 Thermoplastic-Olyfen membrane onto existing surfaces
• Maintains and repairs gutters, gutter lap joints, Obdyke bracketing, downspouts/attachment hardware, and flex-pipe
• Maintains and seals metal edge deck flanges.
• Maintains, repairs, and replaces vent bases
• Works in tandem with the Construction, Utilities, Remediation, and other departments as directed
• Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of roofing department tools
• Competent and safe use of aerial lift and heavy equipment as trained.
• To ensure that monthly safety meetings are attended, all safety directives are followed, and PPE is consistently utilized as required/trained/directed
• Complies with Job Safety Assessments
• Maintains effective professional relationships with all levels of employees, residents, vendors, and contractors
• Performs other duties as assigned by the RSA

In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon Parkway Maintenance and Management LLC. needs or requirements.

• Responsible for compliance of company policies and directives.
• Professional manner, communication, discretion, and appearance are expected.
• Reports any incident or accident to RSA. Informs manager of any issues.
• Well organized, ability to multi-task, efficient.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving history
