On Top of the World Communities is Hiring an Assistant Facilities Manager, Nights Near Clearwater, FL

This is an Assistant Facilities Manager, Night Shift. The hours for this position are 2:30pm to 11:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday. The days off for this position would be Monday and Tuesday.

Job Summary/Overview

This SCA Maintenance department is responsible for every building in which a resident does not live. The SCA Facilities Assistant Manager is a hands-on position that is responsible for the maintenance, care and upkeep of all SCA facilities and the overseeing of the community pools, play courts, parking lots and BBQ areas.

This is a visible position and candidate must exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills to members of the community, general public, and other On Top of the World employees. Personal contact occurs with residents, other divisions of the company, consultants, contractors and customers of the department.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Should demonstrate strong characteristics of commitment, trustworthiness, and accountability
  • The position reports to the SCA Facilities Senior Manager daily, with overall reporting as required to the General Manager
  • Ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise various cleaning and maintenance tasks and plan work schedules
  • Develop and update training procedures for new/current team members
  • Conduct and attend company safety meetings and complete assigned training with team members
  • Conducts building inspections daily to ensure standards of cleanliness are being maintained by cleaning team
  • Evaluates the inspection results to maintain consistency throughout the facilities and correct conditions below established standards
  • Investigates, inspects, and corrects issues as directed by the general/operations manager(s) and/or association
  • Assist with hurricane preparedness
  • Performs other tasks and general maintenance duties as assigned
  • Professional communication with residents and resolve complaints as directed
  • Maintains and updates all SDS books for SCA H&R
  • Creates, maintains and updates maintenance/cleaning check list
  • Works as backup to the CPO
  • Schedules and oversees buildings and facilities maintenance
  • Maintain facility cleanliness
  • Assist with pools, tiles, decks, spas, pumps, motors, filtration system as needed
  • Daily Chemical Readings/Logging as required. Able to do small repairs on Pool Heaters and Spas.
  • Maintain pool and spa equipment in good working order
  • Maintenance may include, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, ceiling, floor and wall repairs
  • Ability to do repairs to facilities when required
  • Building maintenance
  • Facility cleaning
  • General maintenance duties of buildings inside and outside will be assigned by Manager
  • Event Set Ups and Take Down
  • Reports any damage or unsafe condition to the Facilities Manager
  • Proficiency in safely handling hazardous materials as necessary
  • Monitors the initial and continued training of the SCA Night Maintenance staff
  • Recommends staff skill enhancement training
  • Back up for Senior Facilities Manager
  • Meet with Day Facilities manager and Sr. Manager daily to coordinate tasks, status of projects or cleaning duties updates
  • Ability to work overtime when needed
  • Position is 10% desk work and 90% field work

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists facilities manager in interviewing and hiring decisions
  • Responsible for first level problem resolution and its documentation
  • Escalates issues of counseling or termination of employers to facilities manager
  • Assists facilities manager with employee reviews
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work;

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Mechanical knowledge of various applicable equipment as needed or required
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Multi-tasking
  • Good time management skills

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5 years previous supervisory experience in a similar position
  • Able to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
  • Supervisory communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Problem solving skills

Reports to: SCA Facilities Senior Manager

Certifications or Licenses

  • Certified Pool Operator License or able to obtain within 90 days of date of hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
