We are seeking an individual who is passionate about leading a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.

Job Summary

The Production Shift Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and directing employees in the safe and efficient production of quality products in a cost-effective manner that meets customer expectations. Specifically, this position will be responsible for facilitating production and maintenance activities on shift to ensure that optimum performance levels are achieved in the areas of productivity, quality, housekeeping, and safety in accordance with management guidelines while creating and developing a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise all production shift activities to meet or exceed targets
• Ensure compliance with all operating, safety & environmental procedures
• Manage employee schedules, time, and attendance
• Ensure product quality is within specification, troubleshooting, and escalate as necessary
• Review, Edit and approve hourly employee timecards utilizing ADP.
• Assist production department with training on new procedures and processes
• Troubleshoot and problem solve production process issues: work closely with maintenance, process engineering and quality
• Ensure compliance with plant and corporate policies
• Lead continuous improvement projects in safety and process improvement
• Develop team goals and objectives
• Available for occasional 12-hour shift for PTO coverage
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, Ability & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 7 years experience in Manufacturing
• 3 years experience in Manufacturing or Warehouse supervisory experience
• Ability to analyze production data and manage metrics
• Experience with giving feedback and performance management
• Works well independently and in team environment
• Strong PC skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office)
• Ability to motivate and coach employees
• Ability to work shifts
• Leadership Competency requirements: Demonstrate a working proficiency level in the Competencies of Driving Improvement in Others, Driving and Managing Teamwork, and Communication Effectiveness
• Core Competency requirements: Customer Orientation, Results Orientation, Initiative, Business Ethics, Communication Effectiveness, Relationship Building, Operations Discipline, and ability to navigate and remedy conflict

Preferred Skills, Ability, Knowledge & Qualifications

• ERP system experience (SAP)
• Six Sigma
• ADP experience
• Printing, Coating, or Extrusion industry experience
• 5 years manufacturing supervisor experience

Work Environment and Environmental Conditions

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed
• Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Comfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.
• Ability to detect, distinguish, or determine the source of a smell
• Exposure or works around chemical processing, unregulated temperature, dusty conditions
• No travel is required
