Nestled at the foot of the picturesque Camelback Mountain in the exclusive enclave of Paradise Valley, the Montelucia Resort & Spa features 253 luxurious guestrooms, 38 suites and two presidential suites. The property’s distinctive architecture is inspired by the rich history, white-washed villages and sun-drenched hills of Spain’s Andalusia region. The property also includes the award-winning Moroccan inspired Joya Spa, three resort pools and five dining options including the critically acclaimed restaurant, Prado. The resort, which is adjacent to the cities of Phoenix and Scottsdale, offers easy access to golf, recreation, nightlife and entertainment.

Job Description

To assist the Director of Revenue Management in the effective leadership and direction of the property revenue management practices and well as to directly oversee the reservations aspects of the department including all operational relationships and communications within the hotel. This position will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of all strategies in all three revenue segments (group, transient and catering) as well as directly oversee the reservations team consisting of Group Rooms Coordinators. No-show, Late Cancellation and other attrition revenue sources will also be included in the evaluation of overall performance. Success is determined through improvement in our revenue performance as compared to that of our defined competitors, increases in reservations service scores, and overall RevPAR growth. This position is intended to be a developmental position for those interested in the Director of Revenue Management career path.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DORM in monitoring and analyzing demand patterns.
  • Assist the DORM in monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of restrictions and other selling strategies.
  • Assist the DORM in Monitoring and analyzing daily future turndowns and lost business.
  • Assist the DORM in Developing and implementing daily selling strategies.
  • Assist the DORM in producing a day by day 12 month rolling forecast.
  • Produce and distribute a 10-Day Operations Forecast.
  • Manage and maintain all FIT reservations, contracts, production, and collection efforts.
  • Check and process weekly Onyx commission inquiries.
  • Ensure all definite group Booking Recaps are entered into the PMS system within 24hrs after turn-over.
  • Maintain system balances between Delphi and Opera during the sales turnover process.
  • Manage/access all housing group pick-up reports. Produce and distribute Group Pickup Report.
  • Run group pickup meeting ensuring patterns, over-block, and low pickup situations are addressed.
  • Provide directional feedback on group block pick-up and slippage.
  • Audit group resumes prior to group are arrival. Audit routing, notes, and other details to ensure flawless group rooming list maintenance.
  • Meet with meeting planners/attend pre-convention meetings as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in weekly RevMerch, Sales, and RevMax meetings.
  • Conduct/chair the RevMerch meeting in the absence of the DORM.
  • Analyze no-show, same-day cancel, early departure and unexpected stay-over patterns.
  • Analyze the impact of changing mix of business ratio.
  • Work with OMNI CRO to ensure accurate group booking information is set up for call-in blocks.
  • Process all call reviews and other relevant reservation research (commissions, cancellations, fees, rate availability, and system glitches).
  • Maximize potential room revenue by following system defined selling guidelines.
  • Assist in setting strategy to fill hotel occupancy utilizing demand and pattern management.
  • Oversee accurate input of all Reservations into system.
  • Clear all room type issues prior to arrival on a daily basis.
  • Ensure an efficient and professional working environment with open communication.
  • Ensure staff is well trained and has ongoing training as needed on ORS, OPMS, and Delphi systems.
  • Ensure staff is able to describe all hotel accommodations and effectively sell upgrades and suites.
  • Work with local contacts to produce attractive and creative package offerings.
  • Work with e-commerce and other teams to promote our package offerings.
  • Ensure that the operational team has all of the tools needed to quickly identify and produce package offers flawlessly.
  • Be the telephone and e-mail “point of contact” for the Reservations “Management” questions including rate offers, date change issues, ESP rate availability questions/calls, late cancellation/no-show and other fee waiver consideration.
  • Be the active contact with all operational departments including participation in “staff” and “ops” meetings and act as the reservations department representative. Ensure standup and ops meeting material is disseminated to the reservations department staff.
  • Assist with daily reports including Daily Revenue, Daily Detail, Group Pickup and any other report as directed by DORM.
  • Assist in maintain rates and parity with non-channeled segments (booking.com, jetsetter)
  • Assist in streamlining the communication of rate code specific information to operation teams utilizing ART and Epitome.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform the functions above, have excellent communication and guest services skills, be comfortable with computer systems and multi-line phones, and have team leadership skills.
  • Prior Hotel Front Office and/or Reservations experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Opera, IdeaS RMS, and Delphi are preferred
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Understands Revenue Management theory and practice.
  • Comprehension of technical application of reservations system.
  • 1-2 years Leadership experience preferred
