Job Description

Omni Care Interns are provided a summer internship opportunity that will result in acceptance into our LID (Leader in Development) program at the end of the summer season based upon performance. The F&B OCI Supervisor oversee's day to day operations for the opening and closing of the assigned food and beverage facilities. Maintain the staffing, service, revenue and profit standards of the various operations.

Responsibilities

include the following:

  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, and discipline staff regularly with the assistance of Human Resources.
  • Adhere to all hotel and food and beverage departmental rules.
  • Staff and operate as business demands and schedule accordingly. Ensure a high level of professionalism in the department.
  • Have a comprehensive training program that includes employee meetings at least once per month. Communicate hotel information, events, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of cash handling, inventory control, proper ringing of all products, and awareness of theft.
  • Adhere to the management by objective program goals.
  • Adhere to guidelines of hiring, training, discipline and termination policies.
  • Evaluating and pre-planning and being prepared for large groups and special functions including holidays.
  • Operate restaurant’s special events, coordinating staffing and service.
  • Opening and closing duties
  • Flexible in working various entry level service positions within the property.
  • Position will incorporate at least one rotation between job functions either within the same department or in another department (ex: front office, housekeeping, various food and beverage outlets, events, pools, recreation. Additional jobs/departments/roles may be added based on business needs
  • Attend to and anticipate guest’s needs.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork.
  • Attend Omni Care Internship training and enrichment seminars through the summer season.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise departmental operations and approximately 50 employees.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must have San Diego Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification before first day of work.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in Food and Beverage with high volume preferred. Basic knowledge of hotel food and beverage.

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a customer service position preferred
  • Willingness to learn and take on different projects
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, squat, and lean during daily business for extended periods of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Rate: $24.00
