Job Description

This role will provide strategic oversite of the revenue management process for an assigned group of hotels consisting of resorts, group and convention hotels and core hotel properties. This person will work directly with the overall hotel revenue strategy team and specifically the Central/Field Directors of Revenue Management (CDRM/DORM) to optimize revenue and profitability across all segments. This position assists the department with implementation of key initiatives and processes, supports the team via training and coaching and demonstrates expertise with systems and strategies. This role also works in a cross disciplinary fashion with sales and marketing, digital, distribution, operations, and finance to support brand initiatives. 

Location: Omni Hotels & Resorts Corporate Office (Dallas, TX)

Responsibilities

  • Effectively incorporate Omni Hotels & Resorts revenue management philosophy in all aspects of sales, marketing, and operations, including training and information sessions on behalf of all revenue generating positions
  • Work with Revenue Management and company leaders to ensure Omni has best-in-class strategies, technology, and processes to optimize total revenue management, market share and profitability performance at every property
  • Help drive and support the Revenue Management discipline by facilitating revenue strategy reviews; assisting with ad-hoc requests from RVPs/SVPs to look at individual hotel and proactively identify potential revenue opportunities
  • Lead and support the Directors of Revenue Management by providing strategic direction, leadership, and development. Represent the needs of the team members with respect to training, tools, and systems
  • Assist with recruiting efforts for the Revenue Management discipline by connecting with competitive brand talent
  • Assist the discipline in functional support for conference planning, training, and documenting best practices for the discipline. Assist as needed with training outside the discipline such as sales training, GM Orientation, etc.
  • Act as a resource to company sales leadership as it relates to Revenue Management tools, philosophies, and strategies
  • Build strong relationships with hotel teams to align around brand initiatives and projects

Strategy and Analysis

  • Research, identify and develop total revenue management opportunities, techniques and practices that contribute to superior RevPAR growth, market share increase and overall revenue growth and profitability
  • Analyze trends by market segment based on day of week, booking window and season to better develop pricing strategies
  • Transform theoretical knowledge gained from analysis into the business cycle, booking cycle and long-term strategic planning; provide recommendations based on the current demand generate climate
  • Review each property’s annual pricing configuration, along with the competition to ensure proper positioning of each hotel. Explore market mix variations that would stimulate revenues
  • Analyze marketplace reports such as STR, Demand 360, Agency 360 along with company available reporting and analytics to understand, guide and recommend alternate strategies
  • Review of historical data on events and performance in all revenue areas for any promotions during demand-generating events

Channel Management

  • Demonstrate understanding of channel management and optimization through pricing and inventory management
  • Work with the field marketing and digital teams to optimize all channels and social networks with relevant and timely offers
  • Participate in vendor and partner selection including agreements and business reviews as needed
  • Work across disciplines to validate optimization of 3rd party sites, OH.com and other distribution channels. Ensure property participation and data integrity in all forms of e-Distribution Channels
  • Knowledge of CRS, RMS, and PMS systems to manage and maintain group and transient inventory and pricing. Support the company in technical transitions aimed at supporting the overall revenue management function
  • Identify parity issues and escalate as needed

Supportive Functions

  • Lead development of key budgetary and forecast goals and objectives for Transient market segments with input on Group market segments. Provide feedback on budget vs. actual comparisons and insight into overall performance
  • Develop a working knowledge of Digital strategies, including paid search, metasearch, e-mail marketing, and social to assist with the holistic demand generation activities for the brand and/or specific hotel collections
  • Represent the Revenue Management discipline in meetings and projects as requested
  • Work with the CDRMs and Field DORMs to support, practice and articulate an evolving culture of Total Revenue Management
  • Monitor and review all new rate submissions from properties to ensure accuracy and brand compliance. Approve and send to Distribution for activation and channeling
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the brand and as a resource for the CDRMs and Field DORMs
  • Conduct regular system audits of assigned properties to confirm proper utilization and recommend changes as needed
  • Attend RevMerch meetings on a regular basis to validate effectiveness, communication, and overall team dynamics

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
  • Ability to gain adoption of evolving revenue management practices across multiple disciplines
  • Understanding of group sales, transient demand generation, and ancillary revenue strategies across hotels of varying types and in various destinations
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, detail oriented, able to work across disciplines to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Experience with management/engagement of direct reports (Dallas based), indirect reports (field based) including remote associates
  • Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum, and social skills; appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office 365 applications; comprehension of technical application of reservations system
  • Understands Total Revenue Management theory and practice
  • Ability to deliver presentations in a concise, well-organized manner

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • 4-year college degree required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in Hospitality Revenue Management and/or Sales
  • Previous corporate or regional oversight experience in the Sales or Revenue discipline with multi-property responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively analyze data from multiple sources and determine strategic direction in a precise, timely manner
  • Expertise in pricing and mix management to drive market share
  • Proven experience implementing change and innovating processes
  • Ability to motivate colleagues to achieve established performance metrics
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to travel at least 30% of the time and work periodic weekends based on project needs
  • Ability work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • This position is based at the Omni Service Center in Dallas
