Job Summary:
The Facility maintenance technician will undertake a range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks essential for the maintenance and repair of the facility. This position encompasses a variety of duties aimed at preserving the building’s condition, including electrical, plumbing and general repair work. The Technician must demonstrate a robust understanding of building systems and equipment to promptly diagnose and resolve issues as they emerge.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Performs basic, routine, and preventative facilities maintenance, including construction, repair, restoration, and replacement of various components of physical structure of facility
• Follows standard operating procedures to install, inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems within the facility
• Assists with miscellaneous facility projects such as troubleshooting mechanical problems, painting, drywall, carpentry, fixture installation, and moving furniture or materials within the facility. Also, involved in facility improvement projects, renovations or upgrades as assigned.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on building systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and prolong life span.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to address issues such as leaks, malfunction or safety concerns
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory.
• Provide support for events or activities hosted in the facility, including setup, teardown, and equipment operations.
• Collaborate with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs as needed
• Builds custom crates to ship customer orders
• Oversees and assists in managing coolant and chip disposal for CNC Machines
• Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts while ensuring cleanliness and organization in mechanical and storage rooms.
• Ensuring building security and safety measures are upheld, including locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to eliminate potential hazard.
• Facilitates snow and ice removal in parking areas and facility entrances
• Assist in CNC Machine maintenance as required such as, coolant tank cleanouts, pump replacements, etc.
• Contact facility contractors and obtain estimates for scope of work as required
• Ability to operate a forklift and/or scissor lift effectively and safely as required
• Perform facility grounds maintenance as directed
• Assisting with other duties, assignments and projects as required

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; technical training or certification in a related field preferred
• Two years of experience in facility structure systems, demonstrating practical knowledge and proficiency in maintenance tasks
• Strong mechanical and electrical abilities, coupled with solid understanding of safety and environmental practices in a facilities maintenance setting.
• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities to effectively diagnose and address maintenance issues.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to stay on task and work independently
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and planning layouts, as well as the capability to create drawings for repairs and problem-solving purposes
• Experience operating construction equipment, including but not limited to scissor lifts, forklifts, ladders, and scaffolds, ensuring safety and efficiency
• Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing to perform maintenance and repairs effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction both internal and external stakeholders
• Physical stamina and the ability to push, pull, and lift heavy objects weighing up to 50lbs as well as perform various physical functions such as bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and reaching.
• Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment and software used in the facility maintenance and repair operations, ensuring efficient completion of tasks
• Willingness to adapt to changing work environments and schedules, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to meeting maintenance requirements.
