Description:

Introduction:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our pain management team. The CMA will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care to patients suffering from chronic pain conditions. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in medical assisting, be proficient in pain management procedures, and possess excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care and Triage:

  • Greet patients, ensure their comfort, and assist with any initial inquiries or concerns.
  • Perform patient triage, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and documenting chief complaints accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures related to pain management.

Pain Management Support:

  • Assist healthcare providers during pain management procedures, including injections, nerve blocks, and other interventions.
  • Prepare and maintain the necessary equipment and supplies for pain management procedures.
  • Provide post-procedure care instructions and ensure patient understanding.

Infection Control and Safety:

  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and adhere to safety guidelines.

Collaborative Teamwork:

  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist in managing inventory, ordering medical supplies, and maintaining equipment in the pain management department.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in pain management or a related specialty.
  • Proficiency in pain management procedures, such as administering injections and assisting with various pain management interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and support to patients experiencing chronic pain.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage patient appointments, records, and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and medical billing processes.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic pain management setting.
