Description

Primary Functions:

Under the direction of the Lead/Supervisor, this position is responsible for physically walking on a frequent basis and removing litter, debris and pet droppings from the grounds in- front and around campus (outside). Also responsible for performing janitorial duties for educational building and related areas. Superior customer service will be provided, as well company policies and procedures followed at all times. Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and techniques are essential this position.

Responsibilities:

• Remove all litter, debris and pet droppings from the grounds, such as walkways, to and between buildings, grounds adjunct to the road, in front of and around campus and parking lots.
• Picking up all litter, to include; glass, cigarette butts and trash.
• Sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, washing and cleaning of all assigned area.
• Restock supplies.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as needed outside and around the buildings.
• Clean doors and frames.
• General maintenance of grounds.
• Respond to emergency work orders.
• Order supplies according to guidelines.
• Assist in keeping grounds neat and free of litter; including raking and sweeping.
• Assist other Porters with any additional work order requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Project Manager.

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards.

• Ability to work effectively with a team, as well as independently.
• Ability to meet and lead other to meet schedules and timelines.
• Ability to rain and provide work directions to others.

Working Environment:

The work is performed outside of an educational setting, with a wide variety of people with different personalities, functions and abilities.

Physical Demands:

The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and occasionally lift up to fifty pounds. Items over fifty pounds will require a team lift.

Carrying a backpack vacuum for an extended period of time.

Employee will frequently be exposed to various weather conditions and noise.
