Reports to: Controller/CEO
Location: Columbia, SC
Summary Objective: The Corporate Accountant provides accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
JOB SUMMARY
Duties/Responsibilities:
provide timely and accurate payment processing for accounts payable checks semi-weekly
develop and maintain reports and files on the Accounts Payable processing
input general ledger entries for account changes: prepaids, depreciation, interest, etc.
preparing pre-billing drafts and reports for project managers to review
perform actual to budget variance analysis for projects to address issues and reconcile
monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections
ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner
updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments
providing project managers with timely financial reports/budgets, data-driven project forecasts
maintain reports and files within company filing system
develop and maintain regular reports via the companys accounting system
maintain financial security by following internal accounting procedures and GAAP
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
B. S. Accounting/Finance
2 years professional experience in accounting: accounts payable/receivable and GL
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Experience with Accounting Software, Deltek a plus.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated excellent organizational, planning, and communications skills
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work on multiple assignments
Ability to work both on a team and independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Experience with Accounting Software, Deltek a plus.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated excellent organizational, planning, and communications skills.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work on multiple assignment.s
Ability to work both on a team and independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
