Junior Investment Analyst Position Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing Asset Management department. This is an entry level opportunity within investments, not an insurance position. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Investments at ORI, the Junior Analyst will be responsible for assisting and providing administrative support to various associates on the Asset Management team. The candidate will be expected to employ a “learning” mindset for the first 1-2 years and transition into a critical decision-making role, with opportunities for career growth as they progress. The opportunity is unique in that this individual will be a part of a very small team that manages a large portfolio ($16 billion AUM). The right candidate will have an opportunity to quickly make a significant impact.

Junior Investment Analyst responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Become proficient with the Bloomberg platform
• Assist in monitoring existing portfolio holdings, creating monthly and quarterly reports to summarize trends
• Learn and become familiar with the investment process of both the stock and bond market which would include credit research, securities trading, and portfolio management
• Learn to conduct thorough analysis to develop buy, hold, and sell investment recommendations
• Develop and maintain written credit evaluations, relative value analyses, and other pertinent information based on qualitative and quantitative factors
• Develop and maintain relationships with sell-side brokers
• Complete other duties as assigned by management

Experience/Required Skills:

• 0-2 years of experience in an investment or credit analysis position
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university with GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Candidate will be expected to pursue the CFA designation
• Ability to demonstrate a genuine interest in investing
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Efficient planning and organization skills
• Ability to multi-task, paired with strong time management skills
• Strong mathematical skills
• Effective communication skills on multiple platforms
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills
