Oklahoma State University is Hiring a Web Development Specialist Near Stillwater, OK

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive unit featuring world class instruction, research, extension and online learning. We are seeking a Web Development Specialist to join the CEAT Marketing and Communications team.
The Web Development Specialist will create compelling and effective online content to achieve CEAT’s strategic goals and showcase the academic, research and extension programs for the college. They will continually evaluate and improve CEAT’s web presence to provide support for ongoing marketing and communication efforts.
Design the visual layout of CEAT websites or web-based products to enhance appeal and maximize functionality. Use web analytics to measure the effectiveness of web initiatives and adjust as needed to maximize success. Design graphics, pages, forms, and navigation schema. Create visually appealing content that will support the college’s objectives while creating a functional and satisfying experience for site users. Work closely with CEAT IT to ensure compatibility across all platforms, and troubleshoot technical issues.
The Web Development Specialist will work closely with all CEAT academic, research, and extension departments to ensure strategic goals for web presence are being met to elevate overall reputation. They must collaborate with CEAT Marketing and Communications, CEAT IT and University Marketing to ensure consistency throughout the CEAT site and the OSU site.
This position will assist the Marketing and Communications team as needed with projects, events, and other duties as assigned.

Some heavy lifting (25 lbs) may be necessary. This is not common.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High school degree/GED.

2 years of work related experience in web-design, particularly in support of marketing and communications initiatives. Experience in visual design, with a strong understanding of user-interface (UI) design. Familiarity with web analytics. Strong understanding of markup languages such as HTML, PHP, and CSS. Post-secondary education may be substituted for years of experience.

Proficient in oral and written communication. Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision, and work in a team setting. Strong analytical skills. Ability to multi-task. Excellent interpersonal skills. Customer service skills. Highly organized, willing to help others set and maintain schedules. Project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Communications, or related field with emphasis in computer science or MIS.

3 years experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal and OmniUpdate, Responsive Design, knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, project management, graphic design, etc. Experience with graphic design software.
