Job Summary:
The Data Scientist at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) reports to the Director of Financial Analysis and Reporting and is responsible for financial reconciliation, reporting, and auditing functions. The Data Scientist works in a team environment that interprets statistical and numerical data from various sources to support decision making and develop effective business solutions for multiple departments. Create and maintain data collection systems and applications used to analyze and report performance. Utilize work queues to resolve account issues. Support cash reconciliation between clinic and accounting systems. Identify operational issues and implement solutions. Automate existing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Use coding languages including SQL and SAS to collect, organize, and analyze data.
Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The Data Scientist will collect, maintain, analyze, and report information using common data structures like SAS and SQL. Project possibilities include financial reporting, cash reconciliation between Epic and Banner, data pulls for both internal and external customers including auditors, developing forecasts and monitoring performance. Support existing processes by analyzing account issues in Epic work queues, researching missing cash in Banner, and reporting legacy data from old systems. Ad HOC projects which may include identification of operational issues, designing solutions to those issues, and automation of existing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
