Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and be proficient in financial report interpretation, financial concepts, and bank reconciliation. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for various accounting duties and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties:
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., Xero) to record financial transactions accurately
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial report writing and interpretation
- Familiarity with general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
- Proficiency in using accounting software (MUNIS ERP preferred)
- Knowledge of government accounting is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
