The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is one of the leading arts institutions in the region. The Museum presents a dynamic range of exhibitions organized from prestigious museums and collections throughout the world. The Museum's own diverse collection features highlights from North America, Europe, and Asia, with particular strengths in American art and postwar abstraction. The permanent collection also boasts one of the world's largest public collections of Dale Chihuly glass, a major collection of photography by Brett Weston, and the definitive museum collection of works by the Washington Color painter Paul Reed. The Museum's renowned Samuel Roberts Noble Theater screens the finest international, independent, documentary, and classic films. Museum amenities include the Museum Store and the Roof Terrace. The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is a member of the Association of Art Museum Directors. The Museum serves over 125,000 visitors annually from all fifty states and thirty foreign countries.
Basic Functions
Supports the Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s mission of enriching lives through the visual arts through retail sales, promoting collections and programs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional visitor services.
Major Responsibilities
·Engage Customers: Utilize initiative and enthusiasm to create a welcoming environment on the sales floor, engaging customers in friendly and helpful interactions.
·Sales Generation: Employ genuine and sincere approaches to create sales, including product demonstration, sharing anecdotal stories, etc.
·Customer Service: Handle customer concerns with professionalism, demonstrating exceptional conflict management and resolution skills.
·Transaction Processing: Conduct sales transactions, including merchandise, gift certificates, and special orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
·Administrative Support: Assist the manager with opening/closing procedures, wrapping/packaging, shipping, and other administrative tasks.
·Inventory Management: Assist with quarterly inventory, reconciliations, and reports to maintain accurate stock levels.
·Visual Merchandising: Support the manager in maintaining attractive merchandise displays and ensuring the overall appearance of the store.
·Store Maintenance: Assist in maintaining desk order and organization of the store room to facilitate smooth operations.
·Other Duties: Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.
Abilities:
·Dependability: Be honest, dependable, and punctual in all work responsibilities, with regular onsite attendance being essential.
·Attention to Detail: Maintain accuracy in work habits with meticulous attention to detail.
·Retail Experience: Possess experience in retail cash handling and sales.
·Task Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing workload effectively.
·Time Flexibility: Willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required
·Customer Focus: Demonstrate a commitment to providing superior customer service in every interaction.
·Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively in a positive, team-oriented environment.
Education
·High school diploma or equivalent required;
·General Computer skills
Physical Demands
·Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks related to store inventory management.
·Occasional standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
·Comfort working at heights, using ladders, lifts, and other equipment
Work Environment
·Exposure to moderate noise levels and weather conditions.
