OJC Oaklawn Jockey Club, Inc. is Hiring a Remote Shuttle Driver - Part Time (Swing/Grave Shifts)

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Shuttle Driver. An individual could be successful if they possess the following. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Shuttle Driver shall pick up and drop off guests and/or team members at desired locations. Shuttle drivers will create first class hospitality and guest service for the clientele utilizing Oaklawn’s Core Values and Standards of Behavior. Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: Safety of passengers and pedestrians are principle responsibility Ensures a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained. Greet guests when they arrive and thank them when they leave. Must adhere to all traffic laws and company policies Assists guests promptly and courteously. Held accountable to the highest degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Provide shuttle service to and from guest parking lots and team member parking lots. Safety of passengers is principle responsibility Assist all physically challenged guests enter and exit the shuttle. Presents a clean, neat and well-groomed appearance Maintain a working knowledge of marketing and special events on property in order to advise guests and fellow team members of same, whenever possible. Ensure the guests and team members are safely in vehicle before driving and have safely cleared the vehicle when exiting before driving away Maintains awareness of parking lot activities and reports all issues immediately Continues to patrol parking areas looking for guests or team members to pick up Inspects vehicle prior to starting shift and ensures that the vehicle is clean and safe Stay informed of the company’s safety and emergency action procedures Communicate effectively with all levels of the Oaklawn team members and guests. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike Immediately report unsafe conditions and team members or guest accidents to a supervisor or Security Maintains strict confidentiality Maintain a positive and professional image for the Oaklawn at all times when performing duties or representing the Oaklawn and encourage others to do the same Ensure the highest quality of guest service is delivered in accordance with Oaklawn’s Core Values Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests Regular punctual attendance Ability to work required overtime Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be able to communicate effectively in English Able to quickly adapt to changing conditions Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations Able to adhere to and deliver Oaklawn's Core Values Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to use hand held 2-way radio in a professional manner Ability to drive multi-passenger van, bus or shuttle High school graduate or GED 2 years previous professional driving experience (i.e. bus, taxi, limo etc.) 3 years guest service experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club. OAKLAWN IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
