Cleans, disinfects, assembles, inspects, and sterilizes complex, specialty instruments and equipment for surgical use. Operates Sterile Processing and Operating Room equipment. Completes OR and SPD recordkeeping about sterility assurance and instrument counts.
- Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- Within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
- Coursework/Training course in Central Service Technology.
- 2 years of Instrumentation/sterilization in an acute hospital.
