Job Summary:
The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Delivery:
Retrieve prepared food items from the kitchen and ensure they are accurately matched with customers' orders.
Deliver food orders to customers' tables promptly and courteously, following established service standards.
Assist in coordinating food delivery with kitchen staff and servers to ensure orders are delivered efficiently.
Table Maintenance:
Monitor tables and promptly remove empty dishes, used utensils, and other items to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
Reset tables with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments for the next guests.
Attend to guests' requests for additional condiments, beverages, or utensils as needed.
Communication and Coordination:
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other restaurant team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Relay any special requests, dietary restrictions, or guest feedback to the appropriate personnel.
Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to prioritize orders and address any issues or delays in food delivery.
Customer Service:
Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to ensure a positive dining experience.
Handle guest complaints or inquiries professionally and escalate to management if necessary.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift and carry trays of food and beverages as needed.
Schedule:
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.
